My wife and are expecting our first child and we are trying decide on day care. We both work full time and one of us staying at home is not an option at this point though we would like it to be in the future.

What I would like to know is which is better for our daughter A structured Day Care such as Kids Are Kids or “La Petite Academy” or a home day care solution. Here is what we have come up with so far can someone please help me add to it.

Structured
Pros: State regulated, has to meet codes in food, sanitation and employee training. Most employees have degrees in the field. The facility is built specifically for Child Care.
Cons: Expensive (around $250-$300/week in our area), High Child/Adult ratio

Home Day Care
Pros: Small child/adult ratio, inexpensive (usually around $150/week)
Cons: Not state regulated even when licensed, the facility is not specifically made for the use, limited resources.

By the way we live in Olathe, KS which is in the Kansas City area if that makes a difference.
